consolidated
selected
North
American
research
functions
onto
its
Bridgewater,
NJ,
campus.
The
consolidation
provides
Aventis
with
nearly
340,000
SF
of
new,
state-of-the-art
chemistry
and
biology
laboratory
and
vivarium
facilities
to
support
the
company’s
research
needs.
In
addition,
the
project
entailed
major
upgrades
to
underground
utilities
and
an
added
extension
to
the
existing
central
utility
plant.
The
architectural
character
of
the
new
buildings
is
based
upon
that
of
the
existing
Building
N,
also
designed
by
Kling,
which
when
combined
with
the
new
buildings
forms
a
central
research
quadrangle
for
the
campus.
This
quadrangle
arranges
all
major
chemical
and
biological
research
facilities
around
a
central
plaza
and
courtyard.
The
research
buildings
are
then
connected
by
network
of
bridges
and
ground-level
passages. |
